EDM Challenge #36: Draw Out In Public

I had to speak into this thing tonight; but, the meeting went on forever. I had my notes ready. To pass the time, I began this drawing. By the time it was my turn, the drawing had obscured part of what I had intended to say! Since there was a very small audience (most of whom I know!), it was more privately comical than publicly tragic. (I can't wait 'til Jan. when I will be free of this commitment!)
I really enjoyed working the pencil's eraser for blending. I was happy with this one...and it opens another medium for exploration.

Great drawing - it's so full of energy. Your line quality is very expressive. Sorry about you forgetting what you had to say, but I'm glad you got the drawing done!

You’ve really been busy. And I see you’ve overcome your reluctance to draw people. I’ll expect to see color on your blog soon! Clever interpretation of the peach challenge, but my favorite of these new drawings is the graphite microphone. The writing underneath really adds interest and graphite always seems warmer than pen drawings to me. (BTW, fingers also work very well for blending.)

i love this drawing! The eraser blend is definitely a beautiful way to handle the highlights. With your notes on the page, it really looks like the microphone is coming out of a solid surface - very 3D looking.

Cool blog. I like the way you tell stories with all the drawings, like your experience is meshed with the image.

Nice drawings, I hope the freeway one was from memory or a quick photo. My highschool and college notebooks had lots of drawing invasions. Probably too often something I saw looking out the window. Continue the fun!

GREAT use of time. When I was in Toastmasters, I wasn't drawing so much. I don't know what they'd think about sketching prior to speaking. It would have held down my nerves a bit!
